Over the past months, more than 260 people took part in the relay fast launched by Eumans and No Peace Without Justice to defend the International Criminal Court from Donald Trump's attacks.
On July 17, the anniversary of the Rome Statute that established the Court in 1998, we turn the relay into one single collective day of fasting: one shared day, joined by hundreds of people across Europe, to give even greater strength to our appeal to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
We are calling on her to protect the International Criminal Court, its judges and staff from the extraterritorial effects of U.S. sanctions by activating the EU Blocking Statute: the only legal instrument able to neutralize this attack and defend our own sovereignty.
If Europe does not protect the Court, it is choosing complicity.
